The Al Ándalus is a grand luxury train of restored 1920s carriages, and one of the most romantic ways to see southern Spain — from Moorish Andalusia through Roman Extremadura to Castile and Madrid.
Over seven days and six nights, the journey runs between Seville and Madrid, in both directions, with a guided excursion every day. Heading north it calls at Jerez de la Frontera and Cádiz, Córdoba, Mérida and Cáceres, stops at Torrijos for a day in Toledo, and visits Aranjuez before Madrid — five UNESCO World Heritage cities along the way.
Former route vs current route
Until 2025, the Al Ándalus ran a Seville–Málaga loop through Andalusia, visiting Ronda, Granada and Úbeda/Baeza. That route is no longer operated. An interim Seville–Madrid programme also stopped at Zafra and at Alcázar de San Juan for the Campo de Criptana windmills; those stops are not part of the current itinerary either.
The current itinerary is 7 days / 6 nights between Seville and Madrid, in either direction: Seville, Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz, Córdoba, Mérida, Cáceres, Torrijos, Toledo, Aranjuez and Madrid. Toledo is a day visit, with the train staying at nearby Torrijos.
Please note: the operator may adjust visits and their order for scheduling or weather reasons, and occasionally an excursion may be changed or cancelled.

The carriages were built in France in the 1920s for the most glamorous rail travel of the age, carrying British royalty along the French Riviera.
