Day 1 – Tour in Seville and Start of journey
Cities covered : Seville
The tour starts in Seville where we have a short tour and check-in at the hotel for the Al Andalus Luxury Train Journey to Barcelona.
After a welcome on board the train, as we have lunch, the train travels to Merida where we have a tour of this city with many Roman ruins.
Day 2 – Walled City of Avila and Ourense
Cities covered : Avila , Santiago de Compostela
While we have breakfast the train will arrive in Ávila, visit this walled city to continue the trip towards Ourense during lunch. Visit dinner and night in Ourense.
Day 3 – Tour of Santiago de Compostela and Monforte de Lemos
Cities covered : Santiago de Compostela , Monforte de Lemos
As we make our way towards Santiago de Compostela, we will have breakfast.
Later we will go out to visit Santiago de Compostela. After lunch at a local restaurant In the afternoon we will continue our visit and finally we will return to the train to have dinner on board while we arrive in Monforte de Lemos.
The train will be stationed at Monforte de Lemos at night.
Day 4 – Catamaran on Sil River and Gaudi Experience
Cities covered : Monforte de Lemos , Astorga
Today, after breakfast we will visit the Ribera Sacra, we will cross the Sil River in a Catamaran and later visit one of the wine cellars.
Lunch will be on board the train as we will arrive in Astorga.well known for historic landmarks including the Roman walls (a national monument); the Gothic cathedral (1471), with Plateresque and Baroque decorations; the 18th-century town hall; and the 19th-century Bishop’s Palace, designed by Antonio Gaudí.
After a short visit to Astorga and dinner, we will return to the comfort of our rooms on board the train.
Day 5 – Leon and Burgos
Cities covered : León , Burgos
After breakfast, we will visit the city of León, on the Bernesga River in northwest Spain, capital of the Province of León. It’s home to many churches and cathedrals noted for their architecture and art. Among them is the Gothic 13th-century Catedral de Léon, with its towers and flying buttresses. The Romanesque 10th-century Basílica de San Isidoro is known for its frescoes and royal tombs.
Lunch on board the train while arriving in Burgos. This beautiful city located in the autonomous community of Castilla y León. Burgos was selected as the “Spanish Gastronomy Capital” of 2013. In 2015 it was named “City of Gastronomy” by UNESCO. Guided city tour.
Dinner and overnight in Burgos.
Day 6 – Museum of Human Evolution and the heart of La Rioja wine region
Cities covered : Burgos , Logroño
After breakfast we will visit the Museum of Human Evolution (Museo de la Evolución Humana) situated on the south bank of the river Arlanzón, in Burgos; located roughly 16 kilometers west of the Sierra de Atapuerca, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and location of some of the most important human fossil finds in the world.
Lunch on board while we arrive in Logroño, transfer to Elciego (Eltziego) where we will visit the famous winery “Bodega del Marques de Riscal” with Wine Tasting and Sightseeing at its original hotel. This stunning XXI Century Chateau was designed by the internationally renowned architect Frank Gehry and this is a true masterpiece with a great location at “The City of Wine,”
Dinner and overnight in Logroño.
Day 7 – Zaragoza and Onwards to Barcelona
Cities covered : Zaragoza , Barcelona
Early this morning we will be transferred to Zaragoza while we enjoy breakfast on board the train.
Panoramic city tour, visit Plaza del Pilar and Palacio de la Alfajería.
Lunch on board while we headed to our last destination the city of Barcelona where we will leave the train and our guide will take us to our hotel after a panaromic tour of the city. Our luggage will arrive at the hotel where we will spend the night.
End of Trip.
